Welcome

I'm Sianya Dawnmist

This is where I sit with films a little longer.

I’m interested in how they’re made, yes, but more in how they feel while you’re watching, and what lingers afterwards. The quiet moments. The framing choices. The bits of atmosphere that stay with you longer than the plot itself.

🍿 Films

I tend to watch films slowly. Sometimes that means pausing. Sometimes it means returning to a single still and spending time with it - a look held a beat too long, a doorway, the way light falls across a room. Meaning often lives there, in the margins rather than the headline moments.

Here you’ll find reflective critiques rather than reviews, visual notes and stills, small cinematic moodboards, and thoughts that circle power, gender, silence, and perspective. Occasionally there’s theory in the background, but without the stiffness or distance.

I’m less interested in summarising films than in noticing how they work. What they ask us to look at. What they leave unsaid. How sound, colour, and camera movement quietly shape meaning.

This isn’t a space for rankings or “must-watch” lists. It’s a place for attention.

Take your time.
Nothing here is in a hurry.
